Paschen-Runge mounting

Belec spectrometer are composed of three main components: spectrometer optics, electronics and sparking generator.

The optical part consists of a torsion-free ground plate on which high-quality ZEISS diffraction gratings, slits and photomultiplier are mounted.
The high-isolation housing is temperature-stablised (± 0,1°C) and grants a great optical and mechanical stability. Inside walls and reticles are lined with velvet and ensure minimum reflection.

The transmission of measuring signals from the spectrometer optics to electronics is effected across screened circuits equipped with connectors.

board with dip switches

You find the electrical modules in a special card cage what makes access very easy for service. So, later program updates can be realised  quite cost-effectively. The high-voltage power supply for the photomultiplier is also situated here.

Little dip-switches can set up the optimal field for each photocell. Furthermore, the high voltage power supply is program-controlled by a PC which always chooses the best working conditions.

Either mobile or stationary – the temperature stabilisation inside of the spectrometer ensures that there is always an optical and mechanical equilibrium. A re-calibration of the instrument at different outside temperatures is therefore not necessary.

A stress-stabilised sparking generator run by computer produces the required discharge energy between sample and counter electrode. Depending on the check problem and sample matrix, different discharge conditions can be chosen automatically – from a simple direct current-arc discharge up to spark discharges of 50 – 800 Hz. Additionally, the change of the capacity as well as the discharge resistors is possible.
